There are 5 key steps which go into Asphalt Paving which are:

• Preparation of the Subgrade – Clearing the designated area of Debris along with Grading, & Compacting the Soil to create a stable foundation

• Base Layer Installation – Layer of Aggregate Material is spread out and compacted over the Subgrade to provide supportability and drainage

• Asphalt Application – Hot Mix Asphalt which consists of Asphalt Cement and Aggregate Materials is heated then spread across the Base Layer

• Compaction – The next process is to have it Compacted using Rollers to create a Smooth surface. Once this is Dense it will help to provide Durability and Long-Term Usability of the Surface

• Curing – Newly Paved Surfaces are allowed to Cool & Harden which usually takes 24-48 Hours before its accessible for use by Traffic
